Clinical & Past Life Hypnotherapy

Our conscious mind processes 50 bits of information a second and handles our voluntary biological and psychological functions such as wilful movement and logical or critical thought, whereas our subconscious mind processes 11 million bits of information a second and governs all memory and autonomic functions such as habitual or reflexive patterns of action and conditioned thoughts and beliefs. The entire memory bank of every felt and witnessed moment of our embodied life experience, from our fears and traumas to our instinctual preferences, authentic expressions, creative impulses, desires and emotional responses, exist within the sensate-intuitive realm of the subconscious body-mind complex.
The power of the subconscious human psyche cannot be overstated, major surgeries are regularly carried out using hypnotherapy on patients that are allergic to anaesthetics.
In a safe environment and with the right mindset, anyone can enter the altered states of awareness necessary for self-healing through regression and hypnotherapy, in fact we access relaxed and somnambulant states of mind every day in many ways, such as watching screens, being absorbed in a book, music or repetitive action, taking in art or the beauty of nature and drifting in and out of sleep.
Clinical or past life hypnotherapy sessions focus upon a specific matter and intended outcome, when the client is truly ready, an experienced therapist will get to the heart of a matter quickly. Throughout the co-journeying experience, both therapist and client remain in total control of their thoughts, actions and words. It is not a prerequisite to have prior experience for these therapies to deliver curative effects, very often within a much shorter timeframe than traditional talk-based therapies. Whether your subconscious memory takes us to an earlier time in your current life or to a past life is irrelevant, accessing and resolving the origin of a matter is the aim, and as such I work with people from all walks of life with varying beliefs and cultural backgrounds.
By gaining access to the origins of our compulsive thoughts, behaviours and irrational responses to life, clinical hypnotherapy and past life regression effect permanent healing and change. Defence mechanisms, highly sophisticated avoidance tactics and addictions that feel impossible to resist, are all symptomatic indicators of soul-parts seeking integration. Some common symptoms and underlaying complexes related to past conditioning or trauma that regression therapy helps uncover and integrate are:
- Suppressed trauma memory; grief, anger
- Harmful coping patterns; addictions, dependencies, self-harm, eating disorders;
- Toxic relationships; abuse/narcissism/codependency
- Guilt, shame and rage complexes;
- Anxiety, depression, PTSD and CPTSD;
- Low self-worth, self-confidence, self-censoring;
- Chronic pain, recurring illness and phobias.
- Creative blocks, fear of speaking/vulnerability/intimacy
Our ancestors have cultivated, engaged in and facilitated regression practices for hundreds of thousands if not millions of years. All modern therapies involving the induced altered states of awareness are underpinned by ancient pan-cultural, indigenous, natural law based shamanic practices and no, shamanism is not a religious or a belief system. Whereas religion has to do with worship, shamanism, the healing arm of Animism,
is centred around cultivating and maintaining relationship within ourselves, each other, nature, Earth and the entire cosmos. And we don’t need a belief system to convince us that grass is green and the sky is blue, nature is self-evident. As above so below, as within, so without, animism is a cosmology based on values that are in accordance with universal laws and our ancestors engaged in trace ritual and ceremony for the purposes of maintaining sacred connection to the wisdom of nature and to understand themselves as part of a greater whole. By the time our patriarchal worldview took hold, what little remained of our ancient practices, including astrology, was chased underground (the subconscious) and it wasn’t until the early 1900’s that notable psychiatrists Sigmund Freud, Karl Gustav Jung and a number of other regression therapists re-membered and re-minded us that we can heal all manner of suffering by recalling and completing unexpressed and unresolved subconscious memory and integrating and developing the parts of ourselves that we lose touch with or repress due to trauma.
Thanks to modern scientific research and technologies we have been able to piece together our archaic past and the revival of our ancestral knowledge is rapidly accelerating our spiritual re-awakening. The significance and intelligence of our species intuitive psychosomatic complex is beginning to be seen once more as a microcosm, a micro-cosmos, and this transpersonal perspective is available to us collectively for the first time in many thousands of years.
Hypnotherapy and regression therapy use meditation and imagination to bridge the conscious mind, the subconscious and the deeper unconscious mind, sessions take place in a peaceful setting with clear, focussed intention and openness as the ground from which our own intuitive insight can emerge. The physical environment is so crucial and I began online sessions with great trepidation, but I have found that being able to guide others in the comfort of their own homes is in very many ways more supportive for deep journeying i.e. not having to physically travel to appointments and emotionally acclimate, re-centre and transition ones energy after a session is of huge benefit, especially for highly sensitive people. I often prescribe specific daily practices for clients to use to continue their work between session, also journaling and intuitively moving the Body directly afterwards, greatly promotes the integration of new insight. Allowing our curiosity to be led by the intuition, shifts us from the higher analytical brainwave frequencies of Alpha (8-14HZ) and into the creative and fertile frequency called Theta (4-8HZ). We can practice this any time, in fact we enter trance states of theta every day when we read, watch screens, listen to music, meditate or engage in physical movement especially repetitive ones like running, swimming, Yoga or Qigong. In Qigong the Theta state is called Wu Wei; a transcendental state of being 'in the zone’, at one with what we are doing. I’m going to offer a warning here, to be mindful regarding the environment, people, information, food or substances that you choose to enter into a theta states with.
Whenever our logical, labelling and analysing mind is set aside and we are in a state of resting, soft focus, our nine times more inclusive subconsciousness mind is in the drivers seat.
During a session, client and therapist explore beyond mental constructs and defence mechanisms and welcome the emergence of the emotional memory that is unconsciously informing negative thought and behavioural patterns. With empathy, understanding, practice and patience, a sense of authority, authenticity and aliveness replaces feelings of disempowerment, we can go beyond the limitations of all that has conditioned us in the past. This is true healing and transformation. These modalities are so accorded to your needs that depending on where you are on your healing journey, sometimes acknowledgment alone can have a permanent curative effect, sometimes catharsis is needed as the pain of old wounds is witnessed and released by Body and Psyche, whatever is required, bringing peace to the origins to the wounds of our past leads to regeneration and vitality and the ability to experience deeper intimacy in all of our relationships.
